Active RFID Tags, Readers, and Antennas

Active RFID systems provide a higher operating range and enhanced functionality in comparison with passive RFID systems. They operate in various frequency bands, more commonly in 433 MHz, 900 MHz, and 2.4 GHz. The higher performance is achieved by the use of battery on tags. The battery power also allows for implementing enhanced functionality such as audio and visual indicators and other features usually lacking in passive RFID systems.
